2007 Awards Night Presenters

At the Awards Night each scholarship is presented by a person representing the family, business, church, organization.   Following are pictures and comments by some who presented scholarships at the 2007 Awards Night in May.

From Bernita Grimm:   "Our family has spent many years as educators.  Now we are very happy to contribute to this very successful program, 'Dollars for Scholars'.  We wish to encourage all young people to continue on with their education.  MV Dollars for Scholars has made it easy to carry out our wish, now and in the future."

Chris Tegeler commented:  "After attending the MV Dollars for Scholars awards ceremony, we knew we had made the right choice for Dad and Mom's scholarship.  To be able to participate in a program that awards every senior a grant is an honor - the students, who dress and acted professionally, were very sincere and appreciative."

Pat Sperfslage, a 7 year presenter, said:    "I just love attending the Dollars for Scholar's event every spring.  It is so nice to see the interest form the local business people and the excitement of the new graduates come together in one event.  This event truly gets bigger and better every year."

Marcia Boeckenstedt, HR Manager made these comments:  "BRADCO McMILLEN The MAJOR, a division of PALADIN Light Construction, has benefited Maquoketa Valley students for the past 7 years, helping them pursue their education at a technical school of their choice.   Our contribution empowered several students to obtain education in the technical field preparing them for their future career.  We consider this an exciting opportunity to show our support for a program that promotes education beyond high school.  We will continue to be a proud supporter of the program and encourage other companies and businesses to participate in the Dollars for Scholars program."
