Maquoketa Valley Dollars for Scholars provides a scholarship for every Maquoketa Valley graduating student who applies. Audrey and George Wall appreciate the fact that every student who has a goal of continuing their education after high school receives a scholarship through MV DFS.  Audrey is shown presenting a check to Keith Kramer. The additional funds were added to their original Endowment this year.

Delhi Lions Club recently presented funds for an Endowed Scholarship to the Maquoketa Valley Dollars for  Scholars.  Carol Jebens, President, presented a check to Keith Kramer.  Also attending the presentation were Doug Tuetken, Farr Jebens, Willie McDonald and Chris McDonald from the Lions Club and Karen Knipper and Ann Grant of M.V. DFS. (Mr. Tuetken is also a member of MV DFS).  The Delhi Lions Club, part of the International Lions Club, is a service organization which began in Delhi in the mid-1960s.  One of their major undertakings over the years has been the events which take place during Delhi Pride Day in late July.  By funding the Endowed Scholarship, a monetary scholarship will be presented a Maquoketa Valley High School graduate every year at the Awards Night.  Since the first Awards Night of MV Dollars for Scholars in 2001, 494 MV graduates have been awarded a total of $268,786.  Of that total, $47,807 was given to 58 graduates in 2009.  The Delhi Lions Club will award their first scholarship to a 2010 graduate as they join the list of 50 Endowed Scholarship presenters and numerous Direct Scholarship presenters.

Karen Knipper and Ann Grant recently joined the MV DFS Board of Directors.  Both are residents of the rural Delhi area.                                                                                                                                                                      Karen and her husband, Bruce, farm southeast of Delhi and their two sons attend Maquoketa Valley Schools.   Karen works at the Delaware County Assessors office in Manchester she she is active in St. John's Catholic Church in Delhi.

Ann and husband, Dan, farm south of Delhi with their five children attending various schools in the Maquoketa Valley District where Ann is employed as a teacher's aide.  Ann also has been active in Farm Bureau, Delaware Co. Pork Producers, as well as the 4H program in Delaware County.
